Chairman
Mr. McCain is the Chairman of Defense Unlimited International. In addition, Mr. McCain is the Chairman and CEO of Onset Capital Partners, a global asset management firm. Prior to founding Onset, Mr. McCain was a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Parish Capital Advisors, a global private equity firm with $2 billion under management. Over the last twenty years, he has gained extensive intellectual capital in alternative asset classes and in the private equity business from the perspective of advisor, direct investor and limited partner.
Prior to founding Parish Capital, Mr. McCain served as Vice President at BancBoston Ventures, where his group managed a $600 million diversified private equity portfolio and he managed a direct investment portfolio of eleven companies and four limited partnerships. As Vice President, he was active as either a board member or board observer of several of those companies and partnerships. In this role, he aggressively sourced new investment opportunities and reviewed over two hundred investment opportunities annually. In addition to his investment and portfolio management responsibilities, he was also heavily involved in assisting the BancBoston Fund-of-Funds group with fundraising and strategic partnerships. Additionally, Mr. McCain has been at JP Morgan as a Vice President in the fixed income department and at Lazard Freres, in the Mergers and Acquisitions group. While at Lazard, he covered Global Fortune 50 companies and large private equity groups. Mr. McCain has served on the Advisory Board of the Smithsonian National African Art Museum, North Carolina Central University, the NC Nature Conservancy and the Union Independent School. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at the UNC College of Arts and Sciences and the UNC Civil Rights Center. Mr. McCain received a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar, and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School, where he was a Toigo Fellow.
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Cannon is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Defense Unlimited International, where he oversees the executive management and strategic direction of the company, including direct interaction with domestic and international partners and customers. Mr. Cannon has over 30 years of successful international management experience with operations on every continent. His history of ongoing successes in complex corporate management extends to his highly successful tenures as CEO and multiple senior executive roles of major corporations.
As President & CEO of DynCorp International (DI), a Fortune 1000 global logistics, infrastructure, and government services company, he was responsible for the executive management of the company’s multi-billion-dollar global business. He also served on the Board of Directors and led the company through its initial public offering and listing on the NYSE. During his tenure as President he diversified the company from its core government services business to include international project development in commercial related opportunities, including airports, logistics, infrastructure, and master-planned communities – growing DI from $400 million in revenue with 3,000 employees to $1.9 billion and more than 14,000 employees operating in 36 countries. Mr. Cannon held a variety of management positions in his distinguished career with DynCorp International, including Senior Vice President and General Manager, Vice President of Contracts, Director of Contracts and Program Manager. Mr. Cannon served as a Director on the Board of Bristow Group Inc. and also served on Bristow’s Audit and Corporate Governance Committees from 2002 to 2016. Mr. Cannon holds a Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Virginia Tech.
EVP and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Green is a partner of Onset Capital Management, an asset management firm. Mr. Green has decades of experience on the buyside, on both private equity and hedge fund platforms, where he has focused on investments in both debt and equity and performing and non-performing investments across multiple industries.
Prior to joining Onset, he served as a senior member of Houlihan Lokey’s Illiquid Financial Assets practice, where he focused on providing strategic advice primarily to private equity and hedge fund sponsors experiencing a life-cycle event. He was an active advisor in Fund M&A, non-core asset disposition and strategic fund raising. He also focused on originating, selling, and financing pools of hard-to-place illiquid assets. Prior to that Mr. Green worked on various hedge fund and private equity platforms including Plainfield Asset Management (a $5.5 billion hedge fund platform), where he managed a $1 billion+ pool of specialty finance investments: ArcherPoint Capital Management, a partnership based private equity platform he co-founded; and Doughty Hanson & Co., a multi-billion international private equity sponsor. Mr. Green has previously served on the boards of Skylink Aviation Limited, a privately held air logistics business; MTI Holdings, Inc., a high mix, low volume contract manufacturer; North American Membership Group, the world’s largest lifestyle affinity membership organization; Dunlop Standard Aerospace Group, an integrated supplier of aftermarket parts and services to the aerospace and defense industry; PQS Acquisition Corp, North American business of FL Group, the largest independent blender and distributor of automotive lubricants; Knowles Electronics Holdings, Inc., a leading international manufacturer of technologically advanced products in micro-acoustics; and Tumi Inc., a leading, high-end luggage and business accessory brand, amongst many others. After obtaining his MBA from the Wharton Business School, and prior to moving to the buy side, Mr. Green worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation ("DLJ") in the Investment Banking division. Ultimately, he served as one of three members of a dedicated $1.3 billion bridge fund and was appointed to DLJ's Credit Commitment Committee, which reviewed and approved every credit deal that DLJ participated in. Mr. Green started his career as a chartered accountant at Price Waterhouse in Johannesburg, South Africa. Mr. Green holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a postgraduate honors degree in Financial Accounting from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
SVP Aviation
Mr. Pere has over 35 years of management, operations, and training experience. His career has encompassed planning and directing time sensitive operations, developing budgets, conducting research, organizing and conducting training at organizational and training facility level and supervising highly skilled professionals to meet the needs of a wide variety of customers.
He was responsible for the aviation support in the movement of commercial and governmental VIPs (the White House, Congress, US Defence and State Department, Foreign Heads of State, etc.) throughout the world. Mr. Pere was President/Co-Founder, Presidential Airways (PAW), STI Aviation (STI), Air Quest (AQI) and their parent company Aviation Worldwide Services (AWS). Mr. Pere joined STI Aviation in 1995 as the Director of Special Programs, moved up within the company as the Director of Flight Operations and Vice President before becoming the President. After purchasing the rights to STI Aviation in 2000, he started AWS, PAW and AQI supporting new customers (DHL, FEDEX and the US Government). After AWS was sold to Prince Group in 2003, Mr. Pere continued on as the President of all the companies until April 2010. He served as Senior Aviation Operations Analyst, ANSER, where he provided objective, timely research and unbiased recommendations on complex aviation technical and management problems in support of the Special Operations Joint Mission Analysis (JMA) for the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Mr. Pere was Aviation Program Manager at DynCorp International, where he assembled a professional aviation team and required equipment to deploy and operate worldwide in support of DEA US counterdrug operations. Mr. Pere is a US Army (Retired 1992) – 21 years of service in the US Military. Tour of duties included being an Aviation Operations, Plans, and Training Officer, Commanding Officer, Personnel Administrator, Executive Officer. Last assignment was as the Regimental Operations Officer in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) responsible for the daily operations and management of 1,769 personnel and 168 aircraft in support of US Special Operations Forces worldwide deployments. Mr. Pere holds a BA from Glassboro State College, Glassboro, NJ. Also a graduate of the US Army’s Combined Arms Service and Staff School, Aviation Officer Advanced Course, Armor Officer Basic Course, Rotary Wing Aviation School, Airborne Course, Air Assault Course, US Navy’s Second-Class Diver School, Canadian Airborne School, and French Underwater Swimmers School.
SVP Infrastructure
Mr. Morgan is a resourceful, multi-disciplined senior executive with over 35 years of domestic and international experience in infrastructure project planning and management, business development, financial services, and risk management.
As Sr. Vice President for Strategic Business Development for DynCorp International, a Fortune 1000 global logistics, construction and government services company, he managed a new growth strategy for project development in commercial related opportunities, including airports, logistics, infrastructure and master-planned communities worldwide. As Sr. Director and Group Manager for Bechtel Corporation Mr. Morgan served extensively in the Middle East and Europe. In Saudi Arabia he helped manage the successful launch and development of Jubail Industrial City. While in London he designed and helped implement a state-of-the-art risk-mitigated, structured financial platform to support infrastructure projects in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Mr. Morgan also served as Executive Vice President, Strategic Business Development for Quadrum Global, Inc where he managed business growth and joint venture relationships for commercial and government opportunities worldwide. As Sr. Vice President, Construction Practice Leader for Marsh & McLennan Companies, he was responsible for the development of best practices and growth of risk and insurances services to the construction industry. Mr. Morgan was Founder and Chairman of Global Risk Strategies Ltd., which served as an independent project development and risk management consulting firm supporting large-scale global infrastructure projects. Mr. Morgan holds a BA from Arizona State University.
EVP Strategic Services
Mr. Trobaugh is a business and marketing professional with over 30 years of experience in corporate and agency environments. Corporate experience includes international positions with Northrop Grumman and Bechtel Corporation. Agency experience includes ownership and management of Oak Sanderson Inc., a marketing and advertising firm that specialized in business-to-business marketing and retail merchandising support for a broad range of local and national clients for over twelve years.
Mr. Trobaugh served as Sr. Contracts Administrator for Bechtel Corporation in Jubail, Saudi Arabia where he was responsible for developing, negotiating, and overseeing performance of contracts with US and multi-national contractors across a broad range of disciplines for the construction and operation of Jubail Industrial City. Mr. Trobaugh founded and managed Oak Sanderson Inc., a marketing and advertising firm that provided strategic marketing, branding, and advertising for companies such as Microsoft, Adobe, CA, AMD, Dell, PeopleSoft, and DynCorp International. As President, he maintained an active role in all agency and client management affairs, as well as client support activities – involved in evaluating and clarifying objectives; creating actionable marketing plans; establishing targeted communications frameworks; assimilating relevant source information and writing and editing content; overseeing the creative execution and fulfillment; and analyzing the results for each client initiative. Prior to forming Oak Sanderson, he held senior positions in several regional agencies, providing agency management as well as creative, production, and client service support for clients such as 3M, St. David's Hospital, Memorial Healthcare System, and The University of Texas.
